Digital games retailer Humble Bundle is offering its customers the chance to choose a charity to support when making a purchase of “bundles” of software and digital books.
The function has been made possible with the help of PayPal Giving Fund, meaning that over 10,000 UK charities could benefit.
Humble Bundle sells digital content through its pay-what-you-want bundle promotions and the Humble Store. It is now offering customers the opportunity to support a charity with each purchase they make. So far it has raised more than $64 million (£40m) for charities.
Now its customers can choose the benefitting charity from all those with a valid PayPal Giving Fund account.
John Graham, co-founder of Humble Bundle said:

“Humble Bundle’s new Choose Your Own Charity feature expands our user-controlled approach to digital distribution by allowing customers to choose from over 35,000 charities and counting to benefit from their purchases. There are lots of amazing charities out there, and we’re excited that our collaboration with the PayPal Giving Fund will allow our community to support the causes that personally matter to them.”

“We’re delighted to be helping Humble Bundle support thousands of charities enrolled with PayPal Giving Fund. Their innovative pricing model, together with the ability for customers to choose their favourite causes, should be a winning combination for gamers that want to do good.”

Humble Bundle will be introducing ways for charities to promote this new fundraising option to their supporters.
