Advanced’s Gift Aid portal has handled £500m in donations

Charity clients of Advanced Business Solution have used its cloud-based Gift Aid portal to process half a billion pounds in charitable donations in the past two years.
The service, launched in late 2013, helps charities manage the recently introduced online Gift Aid processing requirement for Gift Aid. All Gift Aid claims must now be made online directly to HMRC and organisations processing claims in excess of 1,000 records must be uploaded directly to the Government Gateway.
It also helps them by removing paper-based administration and guarantees that report submissions have been validated. The removal of the manual process of printing, signing and posting each form is reported to be the most welcome benefit, according to some of Advanced’s 1,000+ charity clients.
The service integrates with Advanced’s fundraising solutions Donor Strategy and NG, and its membership product Integra.
Simon Fowler, Managing Director, Advanced Business Solutions (NFP), said:

“By letting customers know if there are any errors in the entry, prior to submission, they are able to speed up the whole process by not having to re-submit data unnecessarily. More importantly, it means they receive their Gift Aid rebate from HMRC much quicker helping their fundraising efforts. It’s a great milestone to have achieved.”

Gift Aid was originally introduced 25 years ago this month, and was substantially expanded in 2000.
