PhotoFoundation - how it works

Photofoundation, the image bank that helps charities source good quality donated photos for their campaigns and publications, has added a new service to make it easier for charities to get the right kind of images.

PhotoAppeal is a free service for charities that lets them submit a brief specifying what kind of image they would like. Photographers can then offer via the site to contribute their photographs.

Current requests include images for Halloween, of people caring for others, children leaping, and teaching in the outdoors.

UK Fundraising has already donated dozens of its extensive collection of fundraising-related images from its Flickr account to the Photofoundation.

As well as providing free, good quality images to charities, Photofoundation also sells donated images to companies and for-profit organisations, and donates 65% of the proceeds to charities.
