Community Development Foundation offers matched funds in crowdfunding challenge

The Community Development Foundation, Nesta, crowdfunding platform Buzzbnk and CrowdfundUK are partnering to launch the Community First CrowdMatch Challenge, a fundraising initiative for social ventures and projects in the country’s most deprived communities.
As part of the government-funded Community First initiative, the Challenge is designed to give projects the chance to access materials, advice and support on crowdfunding and they will launch a crowdfunding campaign to raise the funds needed for their project.
If the projects reach their first crowdfunding ‘milestone’, they will receive match funding from their local Community First panel, doubling the money they have raised.
Head of Programmes at Community Development Foundation, Jason Nuttall, said:

“Crowdfunding is a great way for community projects to increase their profile, and gather support from local people. We are excited to be working with Nesta and Buzzbnk on the Crowdmatch Challenge to introduce crowdfunding as a new tool to Community First projects. ”

The Community First CrowdMatch Challenge is now open to all Community First panels and projects from Community First wards.
