Lloyds Banking Group is to donate an additional £1 million to the Bank of Scotland Foundation, doubling its grants for charities across Scotland to £2 million a year from 2014.

The foundation, set up two years ago, already makes grants of £1 million a year to Scottish charities. It focuses on helping to develop and improve local communities and financial literacy across Scotland.

It is an independent charity that receives an annual donation from Lloyds Banking Group. The current £1 million grant helps fund the Foundation’s Small Grant, volunteering Grants Programme and Matched Giving Programme.
