Salvation Army is Switzerland’s entry for Eurovision 2013

I’ve just spotted that the Swiss entry for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in May 2013 is performed by the Salvation Army (Switzerland, Austria and Hungary).

The song “You and Me” is available for download costing 2.20 Swiss Francs.

It’s a different approach from the Salvation Army band performances I remember as a child, when my grandparents were Salvationists. But if it wins Eurovision it could bring the Salvation Army considerable coverage.

The song has been produced by Hitmill, the leading music production company in Switzerland. The band members are, of course, all members of the Salvation Army, and their ages range from 20 to 94.
