Specsavers is aiming to raise £20,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support through their 2006 Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition, launched nationwide by celebrity Jennifer Ellison in March.

The high street optitian is donating £1 for each eligible entry received to Macmillan Cancer Care. Entries will be accepted until 31 May and the final will take place on 3 October in London’s Waldorf Hilton Hotel.

Specsavers stores will also be holding fundraising days and assisting in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in support of the charity. Promotional rose-tinted glasses will be on sale throughout October with £10 from every sale going to Macmillan.
