Mind in two-year partnership with London Wasps rugby club

Howard Lake | 12 June 2012 | News

Mental health charity Mind has been chosen as the Official Charity Partner of London Wasps rugby club for the next two years.
The Club will help to raise awareness of Mind’s work and support its major fundraising efforts. It will also help to improve the understanding of mental health issues among staff, players, supporters and the wider rugby community. This season London Wasps players’ shirts will feature the Mind logo.
With support from two of London Wasps’ current Club partners, Kukri and Creative Print Group, a proportion of programme and shirt sales from four games throughout the season will be donated to the charity. Mind will also run fundraising activities at these games.
Mind Chief Executive Paul Farmer said: “This partnership reflects the relevant and current issue of mental health in sport, following recent disclosures from people like Andrew Flintoff, Ricky Hatton and rugby’s own Duncan Bell about their experiences of depression. This will provide us with an incredible opportunity to raise awareness of mental health problems, and of the work that Mind does, throughout the rugby community.”
