Ireland Funds dinner in Florida raises $450,000
The American Ireland Fund’s annual dinner dance in Palm Beach, Florida last week raised $450,000 for the Fund’s Promising Ireland campaign.
The 250 guests were welcomed and thanked by Kieran McLoughlin, President & CEO of The Worldwide Ireland Funds, who announced that the Promising Ireland Campaign – an initiative to raise $100 million to assist Irish charities launched last year — was a year ahead of its fundraising goals.
The Worldwide Ireland Funds have launched the Promising Ireland Campaign to raise $100 million by the end of 2013 on behalf of Irish charities. Over 300 projects and organisations have already received support from the campaign.
The Palm Beach event will be followed by a series of fundraising events around St Patrick’s Day. One of the Fund’s biggest fundraising events, the annual New York gala, will be held at the beginning of May.
A number of Irish organisations attended the Florida event, including the Irish Georgian Society, Trinity College Dublin and the National Abbey Theatre.
The Fund’s current grant round is open until the end of March 2012.
