Community Foundation makes grants of €150,000 in Ireland

In the most recent round of Grassroots Grants (Round 28) the Community Foundation for Ireland has awarded grants totalling almost €150,000 to groups all over Ireland.
Grants were made to almost 100 groups for a wide variety of projects supporting vulnerable communities. Activities supported included respite for family carers, support for older people, inventions promoting integration for ethnic minorities, community based mental health projects and those working with families at risk.
Grants ranged in size from €500 to €3000, with most under €2,000.
This most recent round of grantmaking brings the total amount awarded in Grassroots Grants to €433,000 in 2011. It brings the total value of grants disbursed by The Community Foundation since its inception to €10 million.
The next deadline for the Grassroots grants scheme is 30 December 2011. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of your application within six to eight weeks.
