Give As You Live offers charities £5 for every new shopper

Howard Lake | 6 February 2012 | News

Charities can now receive a £5 donation from online shopping site Give as you Live™ for every new shopper that they persuade to register on the site.
To qualify charities need to:
* recruit at least 25 shoppers by 31 March 2012.
* persuade the shoppers themselves to spend a minimum of £10 using Give As You Live to support a cause.
Give as you Live allows online shoppers to donate a percentage of whatever they spend online to the charity of their choice, at no cost to them. Based on an average monthly spend Give As You Live says that each shopper is expected to raise £2.10 per month for charity.
Nina Gopal, Head of Fundraising for Ovarian Cancer Action, welcomed the new offer, saying: “Give as you Live is helping us achieve our target of raising over £15,000 in additional, unrestricted income just from our supporter’s existing online spend in 2012.”
Polly Gowers, CEO of fundraising technology company Everyclick, which created the Give As You Live service, said: “The driver behind the initiative is to highlight to charities the sheer power and fundraising potential of our technology. Countless charities support us already, but from the feedback we have received so far, many have stated the new scheme will really drive them to take full advantage of Give as you Live.”
