UK Fundraising wins Blogger's Choice Award and gets to give away $1000

Howard Lake | 31 March 2011 | Blogs

Remember our recent coverage of The CTK Foundation’s Heart and Soul 2011 Grant Award? The grant that you applied for by writing a short poem? UK Fundraising’s coverage of it has won us the Blogger’s Choice Award for contributing to spreading the word about the award.
Our reward? The opportunity to select an organisation to receive $1,000! You can imagine that actually getting to give money away rather than raise it is a refreshing change for us. So, all those charities and nonprofits whom we persuaded to write that poetic application – good luck: it might be you!
Well done to all our blogger friends around the world. Between us, we helped secure 1,500 applicants for the Texas-based CTK Foundation’s award. And there will be opportunities for you to win too: “the 2011 CTK Blogger’s Choice Award will be the first of many!” say the Foundation.
Thank you too to all those people who retweeted and shared our coverage of this award and its unusual application process. A quick look at our blog post shows that it was
* tweeted 32 times
* shared on Facebook 113 times
* viewed 3544 times (in 10 days)
* and liked on Facebook 112 times.
Those stats are a good deal higher than the average for our blog or news posts, you can imagine.
We’ll let you know who the winner is when the Foundation announces its Grant Award winner at the Heart and Soul Gala on 14 April.
