Planning a wedding? Do us a favour
With many women now sporting post-Valentine’s Day engagement rings, couples up and down the country will be facing the daunting prospect of organising a wedding some time in the near future.
Cancer prevention charity World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) is hoping one easy decision will be to choose their wedding favours to adorn the nuptial dining tables.
By making a £1.50 donation per guest, you will receive an elegant pin badge for each guest as well as complimentary personalised table cards and at the same time you will be supporting the charity’s vital research and education programmes.
WCRF can also create a personalised online celebration page for the happy couple in place of a traditional gift list. Guests can then make donations to WCRF in lieu of presents.
Natalie Tarrant, Senior Fundraising Manager at WCRF, said: “Many people decide they want to mark their special day by helping a charity.
“It is a thoughtful way of contributing to a cause that touches so many and has a direct impact on preventing cancer through funding important research and education projects. It is also a way of honouring the memories of those loved ones who are unable to share your special day because they have been lost to cancer.”

About WCRF
World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) raises awareness that cancer is largely preventable and helps people make choices to reduce their chances of developing the disease.
This includes funding scientific research into how cancer risk is related to diet, physical activity, and weight management, and education programmes that highlight the fact that about a third of the most common cancers could be prevented through changes to lifestyle.
The WCRF report, called Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity, and the Prevention of Cancer: a Global Perspective, is the most comprehensive report ever published on the subject and can be downloaded at www.dietandcancerreport.org
