The Guide to Grants for Individuals in Need 24/25 - hold an umbrella over someone's head

Index of Registered Charities on the Isle of Man

Third Sector magazine (http://thirdsector.co.uk) recently published an article on Hugh Davidson, and the H&S Davidson Trust. It looks like a major grant maker with interests in supporting overseas projects (Save the Children, Oxfam and Christian Aid), and some on the Isle of Man, where Hugh Davidson lives. The Trust is not listed on the Charity Commission website, nor on the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) website. It is, of course, listed on the Index of Registered Charities on the Isle of Man government website. www.gov.im/registries/courts/charities/index.xml. The Register includes approximately 600 trusts.
The website lists Professor J H Davidson as the correspondent for the H & S Davidson Trust. The address is listed, along with the charity number.
If you visit the offices of the charity register, you can read the accounts for registered trusts. It might make a nice sojourn, particularly for fundraisers in the north west of England.
