Melanie Ward joins Migraine Action
Melanie Ward has been appointed to the new position of Head of Fundraising and Deputy Director at Migraine Action.
She joins the charity’s team of seven full and part-time employees based in Leicester. She will primarily be responsible for securing funding from grantmaking trusts, identifying new income streams, and developing the charity’s community, corporate and legacy fundraising activity. She will also deputise for Migraine Action’s Director, Ms Lee Tomkins.
Ward joins the charity after completing a 15 month contract as Project Manager with the Care Quality Commission. Before that she spent five years at the RNLI where she was responsible for income generation across South and East Yorkshire. In addition she has spent six years running her own successful business selling specialist library equipment.
Migraine Action is a membership-based charity with 5,000 members. It provides a telephone helpline and offers a wide range of information and support services for children and adults affected by migraine, and funds research into the causes and treatment of migraine.
