DSC takes over GuideStar UK

I see from the latest free newsletter from Civil Society Media Ltd., (www.civilsociety.co.uk) that the Directory of Social Change (DSC) and GuideStar International (GSI) have announced that ownership of GuideStar UK (www.guidestar.org.uk) has been transferred from GSI to DSC. GuideStar Data Services, the community interest company providing more detailed information is now also part of the DSC. Following the transfer of ownership, GuideStar International will focus its attention and resources on developing new GuideStar services around the world. If you are researching trusts and foundations around the world, check out the GuideStar International website now and again. www.guidestarinternational.org
It will be interesting to see how the DSC uses GuideStar UK data to improve DSC products. For example, the trustfunding.org.uk website is periodically criticised by fundraisers for being a bit out of date. I still think that Trustfunding is a useful resource, but I always use it in conjunction with the Charity Commisison website, and GuideStar UK.
The GuideStar UK website still states that GuideStar plans to include charities in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
