Online fundraising site JustGiving has announced that it will refund its 5% transaction fee for any donations made within seven days from the day that it relaunched its site on 20 June 2009.

The website has been redesigned, with new services being introduced, and a new technology framework (.net rather than ASP) underpinning it. Despite “extensive testing” of the new system, the site has been unavailable to some visitors at times this week.

A message on the company’s blog today from Heather Bird said: “We take full responsibility for our mistakes and our tech team is working 24 hours a day to fix everything, and the rest of the team are staffing the phones and email enquiries to try and help out as quickly as possible”.
