A workshop (Opportunities for GuideStar Europe: Different Environments, Different Solutions) was held on the in December 2008 to present the project results. It is intended that GuideStar Europe will provide a comprehensive database on the civil society sector in the European Union. The next phase of the GuideStar Europe project will include the launch of a pan-European search capability and a roll-out of the GuideStar model to more countries. http://guidestareurope.org
As mentioned in an earlier blog, the first countries likely to be included in the databases are Germany, the Netherlands, the Republic of Ireland, and Hungary.
Japan Association of Charitable Organizations has launched a new database of non-profit organisations in Japan. However, NOPADAS is currently only available in Japanese. www.nopodas.com
