Marathon set to break fundraising record

Howard Lake | 4 June 2008 | News

Organisers of the Dublin Flora Mini-Marathon, in which over 40,000 women took part, expect to exceed last year’s income raised for charity. They estimate that over €15 million will be raised against last year’s total of €14 million.
Hundreds of charities were represented in the marathon, from some of the biggest to local causes. Some people raised money as individuals while others took part in teams.
Meanwhile, a steam and vintage rally in Innishannon , Co Cork, raised €100,000 for the Irish Cancer Society. The rally has been raising money for charity since 1999.
