Deloitte's raise over £2 million for BHF and Leukaemia Research

Howard Lake | 6 March 2008 | News

A corporate partnership between professional services firm Deloitte and the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and Leukaemia Research has generated over £2 million for the charities.

Following a staff vote, Deloitte initially entered into a two year fundraising partnership with the two charities in 2005, aiming to raise £1 million. However, following its success, the partnership was extended for a further year, raising £2.02 million in total.

Deloitte staff and partners supported both charities via a range of fundraising activities from speed-networking, ‘X-Factor’ themed events and the foundation of the Deloitte Choir, to the more traditional favourites such as quiz nights, raffles and a number of popular sporting events.

 JP Morgan Chase Challenge participants

One of the highlights for 2007 was when 1,000 Deloitte staff took part in the annual JP Morgan Chase Challenge (5km run), raising over £100,000 for BHF & Leukaemia Research, including matched funding from the firm.
Regular payroll giving has also been successful with over 25% of Deloitte’s UK staff currently participating in the scheme, earning the Firm a Gold award for Payroll Giving from the Institute of Fundraising presented at the Treasury.
