Howard Lake | 6 September 2007 | News

The closing date for the 2008 GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards, in partnership with the King’s Fund, is 28 September. The awards recognise and reward charities that are doing excellent work to improve people’s health.

The IMPACT Awards, now in their 11th year, are open to registered charities that are at least three years old, working in a health-related field in the UK, with a total annual income under £1 million.

One overall winner will receive £35,000, nine other winners £25,000 each, and up to ten organisations that are highly commended or runners up will receive £5,000 or £3,000.

There is no need to present a new project: the awards are designed to recognise success and achievements for existing work.

Unusually, the awards are not restricted so the recipient charity can decide how to use the award money.

This year winners and highly commended organisations will also receive “free tailored programmes of support to meet their training and development needs”.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on 28 September 2007.
