Recruitment €˜buoyant' in England's charity sector
There are around 600 temporary and permanent vacancies in the charity and voluntary sector in England according to Reed Market Index.
The Index also shows around 15 vacancies in Wales and just seven in Scotland, with the most popular job search for candidates on the internet are for ‘manager’ and ‘fundraising’.
Salaries are similar across all three nations with an average of £25,000. Best paid in the sector are international development professionals, who earn on average £58,000, according to the Reed figures. Fundraising and events vacancies are in the £25,000 bracket.

Sector recruiters reveal that the most sought-after candidates are those with fundraising experience with direct marketing donor development candidates running them a close second. Those with database skills, including Raiser’s Edge, are also in demand.
A survey by charity recruiter Flow Caritas revealed that employees in the sector left their last job because of line management (41%), career progression (22 %), salary (19%), the cause (7%), location (7%) and benefits (4%).
