For the second year Dyslexia Action is offering internships to people looking for work experience. The internships currently on offer are in the marketing and communications department and fundraising department at the charity’s office in Egham, Surrey.

The voluntary work placements are open to candidates from all sections of the community, including those with dyslexia or any other disability.

Dyslexia Action are looking for self-motivated people with willing and flexible attitudes to work and to taking on a variety of tasks.

It adds that candidates need to be numerate and literate. They need to have good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), as well as “confidence, enthusiasm and willingness to learn”.

The length, days and hours of the internships are flexible and to be agreed between the intern and his/her host department. It is expected that most internships will last between three and six months.

All internships are unpaid, although limited expenses will be reimbursed.
