Howard Lake | 27 March 2007 | News

Organisations tackling homelessness and working with homeless people in London are invited to apply for a share of £25,000 available from the London Councils Andy Ludlow Homeless Awards 2007.

The awards are open to registered social landlords, housing and social service departments, NHS trusts and voluntary organisations in London. The winner will receive £10,000, with £5,000 going to each of the three runners-up.

The Andy Ludlow Awards recognise projects that improve services to homeless people, prevent homelessness, or tackle disadvantage caused by homelessness.

The awards are run by London Councils and funded by all 33 London councils together with sponsorship from Communities and Local Government, the London Housing Foundation, and Shelter.

The winner of last year’s awards was Look Ahead Housing and Care – a Kensington and Chelsea-based scheme which provides temporary accommodation and support for homeless people through 72 supported housing projects.

The closing date for entries is 4 June 2007.
