Ciaran Devane will take over as Chief Executive at Macmillan Cancer Support from 1 May 2007. His career has included seven years at Gemini Consulting, where he became head of the firm’s Life Sciences Practice, and serving as Chairman of a housing association.

Devane said: “Having personally experienced the value of Macmillan’s support, it is a real privilege to be joining Macmillan and its incredibly dedicated staff and volunteers. And with the number of people living with cancer set to increase massively, I hope to do my part to help Macmillan adapt and grow to meet the challenge ahead.”

Judy Beard has been acting Chief Executive and will continue in this role until handover arrangements in May are complete.
