Howard Lake | 9 September 2009 | News

The NSPCC has appointed Paul Amadi as its director of fundraising designate. Starting on 4 January 2010 he will spend the first three months working alongside current director Giles Pegram. He will take full responsibility for the nearly £150 million that the NSPCC raises each year when Pegram retires in April 2010.

Amadi joins from the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), where he has been group director of fundraising since 2006. He is also chair of trustees for the Institute of Fundraising.

He began his fundraising career with NCH before becoming deputy director of public affairs at Leonard Cheshire. He spent four years as director of fundraising at Sense before joining RNIB.

Amadi said: “By common consensus, the NSPCC has in recent times set the benchmark for innovative, challenging and effective fundraising with Giles at the helm. I feel privileged and honoured to have been entrusted with this incredible legacy, and look forward to writing the next successful chapter of the NSPCC’s fundraising story.”
