New UK group director at VSO

Judith Brodie has been appointed UK group director at international development charity VSO.

Judith joins VSO from the Impetus Trust where she was Chief Executive. She replaces Debbie Ramsay who has moved roles to work on the charity’s 50th anniversary in 2008.

Judith is responsible for managing the UK’s contribution to VSO’s international work, and reports to chief executive Mark Goldring. In the UK she will oversee fundraising, communications and marketing, volunteer assessment, matching and placing, VSO’s returned volunteer programme, the Youth for
Development programme, and Global Education.

Her remit also includes the VSO offices in Scotland and Ireland. She heads up a team of 130 people.

Previously to working at the Impetus Trust Judith was director of cancer support services at CancerBACUP, policy and communications manager at Age
Concern London and planning coordinator for Hampshire County Council Social
Services.

Judith is also Vice Chair of Turning Point, the social care charity, and a non-executive director of South East London Strategic Health Authority.
