Communicating success on 27 March will be a strategy-level seminar for 400 Chief Executives and senior management team members with speakers from the print and broadcast media and experts in ‘new media’ technologies on how to mobilise public support and build your reputation nationally and internationally. It will be presented in association with Communications Inc.

ACEVO Roadshow on 5 June onwards will be a series of four regional conferences highlighting the work done by ACEVO and by Action Planning to help Boards address strategy and governance issues, drawing upon case studies from ACEVO’s regional members.
Raising funds from the Rich 2007 will take place on 27 September. This annual event on major donor fundraising was attended by 700 charities in 2006, and each year offers a valuable valuable opportunity to hear Britain’s richest givers and most effective practitioners in major donor fundraising.
Another annual event, Funding the Future 2007, to be held on 22 November this year, attracts audiences of up to 1,400. It features 50 top level presentations from the principal statutory, Lottery and trust funders addressing charities in plenary session, then in seven separate halls.
Action Planning is also expanding its programme of workshops, run both centrally and in-house for organisations wishing to train several people.
Workshops in the coming weeks include:
- Preparing successful bids for statutory grants and tenders This two-day course, recently adopted by Futurebuilders England, provides intensive ‘hands-on’ learning for those who need to bid competitively for statutory funding. It has proved popular, having run more than 50 times. There are currently places on the workshop on 1-2 February and 14-15 February in London.
- Running successful projects is a two-day course on how to deliver voluntary sector projects, a key competence which charities must demonstrate if they are to secure funding. The January course is now fully booked with a waiting list, but Action Planning plans to repeat the course.
