One Year On – Tax-Effective Giving Programme Reports Success

ONE YEAR ON – TAX EFFECTIVE GIVING PROGRAMME REPORTS SUCCESS
One year on from the launch of its tax-effective giving programme, the Institute of Fundraising announces that nearly 50% of those who have interacted with the Institute’s initiative have already seen an increase in their charity’s income . Additionally, since engaging with the Institute of Fundraising’s tax-effective giving programme, 67% of organisations surveyed which have yet to make a Gift Aid claim have indicated that they intend to make a claim in the near future.
Over 600 individuals have attended a tax-effective giving workshop since the start of the Institute of Fundraising’s tax-effective giving programme. A further 30 in-house and public workshops are currently planned before the end of March 2007. So far, over 8,000 free guides on tax-effective giving have been provided to the voluntary sector and 1,800 charities assisted in direct request through the Institute’s email and helpline facility.
The Institute’s Volunteer Adviser scheme is currently being piloted in Newcastle upon Tyne and Bristol with 15 Volunteer Advisers supporting over 20 charities in the two pilot areas.
