POLAM HALL PUPILS TAKE TO THE CATWALK IN AID OF LOCAL CHARITY
17/11/06
Pupils from Polam Hall School in Darlington are taking to the catwalk in aid of St Teresa’s Hospice.
A special fundraising fashion show, featuring models from Polam Hall’s Junior School and Sixth Form, will take place in the school’s Liddiard Theatre on Friday, December 1.
The Sixth Form students will model a range of outfits from a number of high street stores and local fashion houses such as New Look, Leggs and Geoffrey Gillow.
Girls from Year 4 will model recycled hats and the Year 10 girls will model a range of recycled shoes obtained from the Hospice Shop in Darlington.
Proceeds from the event will be used to help fund St Teresa’s Hospice’s palliative and respite care services, which are provided free of charge to people living within South Durham and North Yorkshire.
Marie Green, headmistress at Polam Hall School, said: The majority of pupils at Polam Hall are actively involved in a number of local, national and international causes and place a great deal of importance in supporting the wider community in which they live. St Teresa’s Hospice is an important part of this community and plays a significant role in the lives of many individuals in Darlington and the surrounding area. Our students are proud to be supporting such a worthy cause and are hoping that their hardwork will lead to a considerable amount of money being raised on the Hospice’s behalf.”
The Polam Hall fashion show, which begins at 7pm, is open to pupils, parents and the general public. Tickets priced at £6 are available from Polam Hall’s school reception at Grange Road and St Teresa’s Hospice at Woodland Road.
