ST TERESA’S HOSPICE IS ‘EQUIPPED’ WITH FUNDS THANKS TO CURTIS OFFICE SUPPLIES
21/11/06
St Teresa’s Hospice has received more than £400 thanks to an open day at the Darlington showroom of Curtis Office Furniture Ltd.
Visitors to the open day, which was held in the company’s 25,000sq ft showroom at Eastmount Road earlier this month, raised a total of £205 by taking part in a fundraising tombola.
The family-run company, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, kindly matched the amount, bringing the fundraising total to £410.
All proceeds will now be used to help fund St Teresa’s Hospice palliative and respite care services, including Hospice at Home and specialist counselling, which are provided free of charge to people living within South Durham and North Yorkshire.
St Teresa’s Hospice Director, Jane Bradshaw, said: The Hospice delivers a huge variety of services for a lot of people and carers who are dealing with life-limiting illnesses. Every penny that is raised on our behalf goes a long way to ensuring these services are continually available to everyone who needs them. I would like to thank Curtis Office Furniture Ltd and its open day attendees for their kindness and generosity.”
Roger Curtis, Managing Director of Curtis Office Furniture Ltd, said: My family and I have been supplying an extensive range of office furniture to North-East businesses for 20 years now and we thoroughly value the communities we serve. St Teresa’s Hospice means a great deal to the people of Darlington and the surrounding area and this was evident in the high number of people who willingly donated £1 to our tombola. We were more than happy to match the amount they raised.”
