The Love Cambridge Shopping Community Fund has made its inaugural round of grants to four local community organisations. It is now seeking applications for its next set of grants.

The first beneficiaries are Centre33, Coton Pre School, Kings Hedges Neighbourhood Partnership and MadforChange.

Love Cambridge Shopping is an umbrella group of seven of the main stakeholders involved in Cambridge City Centre’s current redevelopment, including Cambridge City Council, Grand Arcade Partnership, John Lewis Partnership, and Prudential.

The group makes awards four times a year. Applications are now being invited for the next funding round, which will take place in December 2006. Community groups can apply for funding of up to £250.

The only criteria are that the group is based in the Cambridge area, the funding is for a specific project, and the group should comprise mainly volunteers working for the benefit of their local community.
