Jane Tomlinson uses satellite phone to update supporters on fundraising ride's progress

The world’s smallest portable mobile satellite device allowed advanced cancer sufferer Jane Tomlinson to keep contact with supporters, sponsors and cancer charities in the UK as she cycled across the USA for 63 days.
The Nera World Pro combined phone and email device, donated by m-Power, was Jane’s constant companion on the 4000-mile ride from San Francisco to New York. Using the satellite solution, Jane and her team maintained a daily ride diary, which appeared on the janesappeal.com website, and kept in simultaneous voice contact with her family and friends.
The ride ended on September 3 in New York, raising £1.25m.
