Animal Health Trust link up with Sovereign for Wills Service

Howard Lake | 7 June 2006 | Newswire

6th June 2006 – Ipswich, Suffolk:
The UK’s leading provider of Solicitor’s in-home Will-writing services, Sovereign Will and Probate Services Ltd, has today announced a joint venture partnership with Newmarket based charity, The Animal Health Trust.
Nick Plumb, Operations Director at Sovereign, has explained the rationale behind developing the Animal Health Trust Will-writing service.
“We are delighted to forge this partnership with the Animal Health Trust, which will provide a unique service for supporters of the charity and an excellent opportunity for increased funding of its animal health programme.
Like all charities, the Animal Health Trust views a legacy in a Will as a most generous gift that enables them to carry on their work. However, time off work and a trip into town to see a solicitor can be very inconvenient, and many well-intentioned charity supporters may not actually get around to making a Will. This means that when they die, not only will the charity not receive the legacy that the deceased intended, but there could also be financial problems for the family of the deceased. Their assets may not pass to who they would have wanted, and there could even be an inheritance tax burden for their beneficiaries.
Now with the launch of the AHT Will-writing service, supporters of the AHT can address these issues and make their Wills in the comfort and privacy of their homes at their convenience. A Sovereign consultant will visit them at home anywhere in England and Wales to guide them through the instruction-taking process. The client’s Wills are then produced by Sovereign’s Solicitors within 14 working days, ready for signing and witnessing. The client receives a discount in Sovereign’s normal fees, and Sovereign also make a donation to the Animal Health Trust for every Will written.”
Andrew Simmonds, Director of Fundraising at the Animal Health Trust said:
“We are delighted to launch the AHT Will-Writing Service, in association with Sovereign Will and Probate Services. The service offers professional advice from a qualified Estate Planning Consultant in the comfort and privacy of your own home, and all Wills are produced by a leading firm of Solicitors.
For every Will written, Sovereign make a donation towards the Animal Health Trust and we hope that many supporters also consider the merits of leaving a charitable bequest to the AHT, thereby helping future generations of animals to benefit from its pioneering veterinary work.”
Plumb explained Sovereign’s plans to provide their unique Solicitor’s in-home Will-writing service to other charities all over England and Wales:
“We believe that further opportunities exist for Sovereign to work with many other charities in similar joint venture partnerships. We feel that the way forward will be to forge a partnership with two leading charities in each of the main sectors, such as cancer, mental health, heritage, and care of children. Obviously, the Animal Health Trust is our primary charity partner in the animal welfare/health sector.
These partnerships will not only provide each charity partner with the opportunity for further fundraising through legacy gifting and Sovereign’s corporate donations, but will also open up the opportunity for our consultants to offer a choice of approved charity partners to those of our other customers who wish to make a charitable gift in their Wills.”
