Howard Lake | 27 April 2006 | Newswire

Is the UK finding a new way to give? Everyclick.com the search engine that helps charity, has delivered over 3 million searches in just 9 months.
The first million took 6 months, the second million 9 weeks and the 3rd million in 6 weeks. In just the past week, 74 charities have signed up to benefit from this new fundraising mechanism bringing the total number of listed charities to 839. Last week 3,551 people selected a charity to support so everyclick.com now has over 13,000 registered supporters and the site delivered 254,201 searches making the total now over 3,600,000.
Over 100 corporate supporters have joined everyclick, including Cadbury Trebor Bassett, to help their favourite charities through their everyday searching. Since launch in June 2005, the top five charities on everyclick.com have generated an average of £13.19* per supporter, up from £12.60 last month.
Polly Gowers, MD of everyclick.com said We are thrilled with progress, people are really beginning to get the idea of what we are all about. Over 210,000 different people visited everyclick last month. We all like to feel that we are doing something to help, using everyclick means that you can help the charity of your choice on a daily basis.”

* How we allocate money to charities
everyclick.com, allocates 50% of its revenue to charity each month. Each listed charity receives a percentage of that revenue equivalent to the proportion of its supporters’ use of everyclick. The revenue generated by everyclick website users that do not select a specific charity will benefit all charities listed, on a pro rata basis. See everyclick.com for further details.
www.everyclick.com Notes to Editors:
• Everyclick.com is the new search engine that has been purpose built to automatically donate 50% of its revenue to charity every month.
• Most people don’t realise that every time they search the web, they’re generating cash. Everyclick.com has been set up to make sure some of this money benefits charity.
• It behaves just like any other search engine, providing full search results, images, news feeds and special features such as Amazon product listings.
• Everyclick.com now has over 800* participating charities.
• The fact is, if just ten supporters from each of the 167,000 UK registered charities used everyclick.com, over £20 million** could be raised in the first year.
• The money is allocated by intelligent software and is distributed to charities every month by the Charities Aid Foundation.
• www.everyclick.com is an example of ’21st Century Giving’ which combines the technology of the 21st century with the more altruistic spirit of the age.
