Today is National Lottery Day

Howard Lake | 5 November 2005 | News

National Lottery Day is designed to thank those who have played the Lottery and raised £17 billion for good causes, and recognise those who have achieved so much with Lottery funding in their local communities.

Today hundreds of organisations and projects across the UK will be opening their doors and holding special events to show people where their National Lottery money has been spent.

Over 350 events are taking place, some at well known venues as well as volunteer and community groups using the day to raise awareness of their hard work and effort. The organisers hope that this will help the public learn more about where their Lottery money has gone, and raise awareness of all the achievements made possible by Lottery funding.
