Charity Commission not investigating Fruitful

The Charity Commission is not investigating the collapse of Fruitful, the professional fundraising organisation, despite recent reports.

UK Fundraising’s has recently covered reports by The Daily Telegraph and BBC TV which stated that the Charity Commission was investigating the collapse of Fruitful.

In fact, the Commission is not investigating into the company. A spokesperson at the Charity Commission told UK Fundraising: “We have been in contact with the charities named in the article (Daily Telegraph, 10 July). There were no new material issues since we looked into their contracts with Open Air Fundraising two years ago. We will be exploring with the Institute of Fundraising whether any further ./guidance can be provided for charities in contracting with face to face fundraising companies.”
