BT customers recommending broadband to a new customer can choose to keep the money or donate it to ChildLine.

BT customers recommending a friend to any of BT’s five broadband products, will receive a cheque for up to £20 for each friend that signs-up to any service. In addition, each new friend will also receive up to £20 from BT. There are no restrictions on the number of friends that can be recommended.

Customers taking part in the scheme can either keep the money or donate their award to ChildLine, the UK’s 24 hour helpline for children in danger or distress, as part of BT’s ‘Am I Listening?’ campaign. To donate the reward to ChildLine, customers simply tick the ChildLine box at bttellafriend.com and their reward will be sent to the charity.

Of course, for ChildLine to get the full £40, both customer and recommended customer will need to make the donation. Nevertheless, the online donation form includes a Gift Aid option so that should boost the income generated by this initiative.
