Grantsnet launches online grant database

GrantsNet Ltd has launched a free searchable online directory of grants available to charities and for-profit businesses.
The directory helps you locate grants relevant to your needs with a simple four-step process that lets you define the type of your organisation (non-profit or for-profit), its geographical location, the beneficiary area, and the type of activity requiring funding e.g. arts, buildings, research, or technology.
GrantsNet Ltd. was established in June 2003 and its services are primarily Internet-based.
GrantsNet claims to differ from the other online funding information sites because it offers its information at no charge.
Director John McLoughlin said: “What we are doing is streamlining the whole process – from the recognition of a need for grant support for an enterprising project, to acquiring the necessary funds. All too often scarce resources are invested in searching for a suitable funding scheme, GrantsNet now addresses this.”
In addition to the search facility, you can submit your own grant schemes to the site, and subscribe to a free grant alert e-mail service.
How does the site generate income? Currently it features some affiliate programme banner ads from the likes of Google.com, plus some promotions for companies selling pin-badges, Web design services and utility bill comparisons. The latter sit oddly on an otherwise crisply designed and focused site.
