Charity Commission redesigns its Web site
The Charity Commission for England and Wales will launch a redesigned Web site next week.
The Charity Commission’s Web site has been designed “to be more accessible and has a cleaner, more modern look.” Screenshots of the new home page in development show a much crisper page with clear navigation than that of the current site.
Recent changes to the Web site and sector news will be given greater prominence, and visitors will be able to customise the site to their own needs.

The original Charity Commission Web site was a very poor design, using clip-art type graphics around a large logo. The current style offered a more useful, tab-based navigation system, but introduced a colour-coding system for sections using seven colours, which was a little confusing.
The site is of course a key resource for fundraisers, not least because it includes the searchable register of charities in England and Wales, some of whom are grant-making trusts.
The new look will go live on 1 October 2003. To see screenshots of the new look site visit the Charity Commission’s Web site.
