Cats Protection reaches finals of IDM awards

Cats Protection is the only charity to have been short-listed for the final round of judging in the 2003 IDM Business Performance Awards.
The charity says that its direct marketing strategy, developed with TDA, is making a “significant impact on business performance.” The programme has focused on generating regular giving rather than one-off donations.
“Reaching the finals of the renowned IDM awards is a fantastic achievement for us,” said Debbie Pearce, Head of Operations at Cats Protection. “We completely changed our approach to fundraising with TDA and developed an entirely new channel for support. This has seen a significant increase in supporters and the cost of recruiting members has dropped by more than 50%.”
“Cats Protection deserves recognition for taking an innovative, long-term view to its fundraising,” said Heather Westgate, Managing Director at TDA. “In an environment where the long-term sustainability of legacy income is uncertain, developing a reliable source of £2 million per year has proved vital.”
The overall winner will be announced on June 17 at the IDM Annual Symposium in London and other finalists include Sainsbury’s, Hewlett Packard, Tesco.com and O2.
