Bogus Internet invoice scam warning

Gareth Edwards of RNIB warned fellow subscribers to the e-fundraising discussion list to be on the look out for bogus invoices for listings in Internet directories. Gareth wrote: “Just to let you all know we have received at RNIB an invoice for an internet business directory listing that we have not ordered. This is a variation on a similar scam that has been carried out offline in the past and it might be worth alerting your central purchasing departments to the issue.”
