New eu.com domain name?

The eu.com domain name has now been released for companies to use. An effort to identify a Web site as European, it is not a true top-level domain name, like .com or .org, in the same way that .uk.com isn’t a true top-level domain name. It is not a priority therefore for charities to register their name under this domain.

One charity will, however, benefit soon when domain registrars Central Nic will auction business.eu.com in a charity auction.
