Ivan Wainewright of IT for Charities has announced a free Web-based Gift Aid calculator for charities to add to their Web sites. The Javascript calculator will let visitors to a charity’s Web site calculate how much their tax-efficient gift would be worth.

A second version of the calculator will tell higher rate tax-payers how much they can claim back in tax if they make a Gift Aid donation.

The calculator scripts are available at no charge to any UK charity.

Charities Aid Foundation offer a similar calculator at their GivingToday site.
