University of Kent offers stand-alone Masters-level course in Fundraising and Philanthropy

The School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research at the University of Kent is offering a Masters level module in Spring on 'Fundraising and Philanthropy' as a stand-alone course for people working in the local charity sector.

The course, run by Dr Beth Breeze, provides an up-to-date overview of current academic knowledge about philanthropy and fundraising practice. In addition, the course is worth 20 credits towards a full Masters degree.

The course runs from 13.00 – 15.00 on Tuesdays from 15 January 2013 – 1 April 2013.

A combination of lectures and seminars will cover the following topics:

Fees will be around £600, and some bursaries are available for those interested in studying for the full Masters degree in ‘Civil Society, NGO and Non Profit Studies’.
