Marston’s Brewery donates special ale for Remembrance appeal

Marston’s Brewery has created a special bottled ale for the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, part of The Royal British Legion family of charities. It is donating 2,000 bottles to help raise funds to ensure that it remains a free entry site.
Armistice Ale 2012 is a classic 3.6% abv Burton pale ale. It is on sale now until the end of December at the centre for remembrance in Alrewas, between Burton and Lichfield. It costs £2.25 per bottle or £15 for a case of eight bottles. It can also be bought online from Marston’s.
The Arboretum, which first opened to the public in 2001, now welcomes around 300,000 visitors and holds over 200 special events each year.

Charles Bagot Jewitt, Chief Executive for the National Memorial Arboretum, explained why people visit: “As well as paying their respects, some also want the opportunity to raise a glass in tribute to their family, friends and colleagues”, he said. “The creation of this new ale is a wonderful gesture by Marston’s as through buying it, people will be contributing directly to its future”.
