Wright's Baking Mixes announces sponsorship of The Big Hour Cake Sale

Howard Lake | 28 August 2012 | News

Wright’s Baking Mixes has announced its sponsorship of Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity’s flagship fundraising event ‘The Big Hour Cake Sale’. The partnership will help Wright’s Baking Mixes reach new consumers, drive trial and raise awareness of the brand in a bid to continue the impressive growth the company has achieved over the last few years.
‘The Big Hour Cake Sale’ is Rainbow Trust’s biggest annual fundraising and awareness event and takes place between 22 – 28 October 2012. Money raised will enable the charity to continue its vital work in providing emotional and practical support to families of children with a life threatening or terminal illness. The Charity is calling on people to use the ‘extra hour’ they gain when the clocks go back this October to join ‘The Big Hour Cake Sale’ and help families who are acutely aware of just how precious ‘one’ hour really is.
The campaign is supported by some of the nation’s favourite celebrity chefs including Lorraine Pascale, Rachel Khoo, Valentine Warner and creator of the Royal Wedding Cake, Fiona Cairns.
As well as being market leaders in bread mixes, G.R. Wright’s have a range of five versatile cake mixes – from cupcakes to muffins through to traybakes and more ‘traditional’ style cakes – including; Carrot, Ginger, Madeira, Chocolate and Toffee. David Wright, Managing Director, G.R. Wright & Sons comments: “We are really impressed by the great work Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity undertakes and feel honoured to be supporting such a worthwhile cause. The Big Hour Cake Sale is a natural fit for Wright’s, as being a family run company ourselves, we feel a strong association with the work Rainbow Trust does to help families. The campaign will also provide us with many great opportunities to engage with new consumers.”
The Big Hour Cake Sale marketing campaign will include PR, social media, digital & direct marketing, advertising and fundraising events.
Suffolk PR agency, Pier, is undertaking an intensive PR campaign to support ‘The Big Hour Cake Sale’; in addition the company has provided pro bono assistance in order to secure the Wright’s Baking Mixes sponsorship and help Rainbow Trust with celebrity recruitment.
London based Brand Remedy has also provided substantial pro bono support by developing The Big Hour visual brand, designing key fundraising collateral and supporting the charity in the creation of a new website for the campaign.
