Simplyhealth to donate up to £30,000 to Heart Research UK for Facebook 'likes'

Healthcare provider Simplyhealth is supporting heart charity Heart Research UK by donating £1 for each person who clicks ‘like’ on an app on the company’s Facebook page.
The company’s new TV advertising campaign, which runs throughout the Autumn, is expected to help drive up the total number of donations.

The campaign began today by highlighting how poor dental health can affect your heart. Heart Research UK will be backing the dental health campaign by making people aware that not brushing their teeth regularly can lead to gum disease and with it the higher chance of heart disease.
The two organisations will also be participating on joint PR initiatives, production of joint health information materials, and sponsored fundraising events.
The ‘like’ isn’t a straightforward Facebook page ‘like’. Instead it involves clicking on two buttons in order to register the donation. On doing so, the donor is presented with a totaliser showing progress towards the £30,000 target, and a video about the campaign which they are invited to share via their networks.
