London Luton Airport chooses Sue Ryder as charity of the year

London Luton Airport has selected Sue Ryder as its charity partner for the two year period of 2012 to 2013. The decision was made in a vote in which over 7,000 staff, passengers and members of the public took part. Sue Ryder received 38% of the vote.
The Airport has pledged an initial donation of £5,000 to the charity. The two organisations will work on ideas to involve staff and passengers in fundraising activities throughout the year.
London Luton Airport employs over 500 staff and handled nearly 9 million passengers in 2010.
