DSC – The Guide to New Trusts 2011/1012
I recently bought a copy of one of the DSC’s new publications – The Guide to New Trusts 2011/1012. I am surprised that they didn’t make more of a fuss of this, as it is a great starting point for researching new grant-making trusts, if you aren’t doing that for yourself already.
You can search the Charity Commission website by registration date, if you want to check this out for yourself.
The book costs £24.95, with 26 A4 pages, and includes 100 recently registered grant-making trusts. The profiles of the trusts are often little more than what is available on the Charity Commission website. However, a few trusts are linked with businesses, so you can check them out. Level Business helps here, allowing you free access to a good deal of Companies House information. You can search Level Business by company name and by director name. There are still plenty of home addresses listed on Level Business for company directors.

Some of the Trusts list the trustees as a bank trustee service. If you want to add information to this, contact the Charity Commission, via the online “email” contact form, and ask them for a copy of the governing documents.
Now that the Charity Commission sometimes list other trusteeships on the website, that gives you another route to identifying and tracking down trustees.
All the best
